While I know most people will talk about how easy it is to use this on any pot/bowl/cup/plate whathaveyou for straining, the real gem of this thing is it doesn't get starchy gunk in the holes that makes cleaning difficult like my old strainer. I had to put my old strainer in the dish washer after each use, whereas this just needs a quick rinse and hand clean. A+ item!
This works well for small portions as shown in the photo, but isn't ideal if you are cooking a giant portion to strain. Tried to use this on my 10-gallon kitchen pot but it wouldn't fit. Works fine on smaller and medium pots or regular large pots but not XL pots.
I use it for pasta as its easier to put this on the pot and drain instead of transferring hot water to a new strainer bowl. No risk of water burns or steam. No risk of spillage.
Studio apartment--not uch room for dishes. This is better than having a separate strainer because I don't need a whole new dish to take up space.
